Admission
- The Registration Form must be completed and signed (by a parent or guardian if the applicant is younger than 18) and returned to the Chapman School along with a copy of an Official Photo ID.
- Payment of full tuition is due with registration.
- Tuition includes books, supplies, and laboratory fees.
- Tuition does not include housing, board, or transportation.
- All costs are payable in U.S. currency only.
- The Chapman School accepts Discover, Visa, or Master Card.

Tuition Rates for classroom, on your vessel or ours – As indicated below, hourly rates are per person.
The fee for each program includes a two hundred dollar ($200) non-refundable tuition deposit.
Classroom Training
One person $125/hour/person
Second person $75/hour/person

Our vessel 40’ & over
One person $200/hour/person
Second person $100/hour/person

Transfer / Refund Policy
- If the application is not accepted by the Chapman School, all payments made by the applicant will be refunded.
- If cancellation is requested within three (3) business days after signing the Registration Form, all payments will be refunded in accordance with the buyer’s right to cancel.
- If the School cancels the program, I may be rescheduled to a future class, or all payments made will be refunded. In the event that I am unable to attend the class for which I am registered the following change/refund policy will apply:
- If cancellation is requested more than three (3) business days after signing the Registration Form but, before the beginning of classroom instruction, the applicant is obligated for the non-refundable Tuition Deposit.
- Where notice is provided to the School more than fourteen (14) days before the start of class, a student may transfer to another class (if available), upon payment of a $50.00 transfer fee.
- Where notice is provided to the School less than 14 days before the start of class to cancel, or if the applicant does not arrive for the scheduled class, or if the applicant wishes to withdraw from class once classes have begun, the applicant may be obligated for the full amount of the tuition.
- If a credit card was used as the original method of payment, a convenience fee of 3.0% of the total amount refunded would apply for all transactions.
- Applicable refunds are made within thirty (30) days.
On-Campus Housing
Student Housing
Description
Campus housing is available to the students for the night preceding the start of a course through the night following its completion on a space available basis. Campus housing consists of dormitory apartments. Each unit contains a bedroom, convertible living room/bedroom, bath, kitchenette, and a covered porch. The number of students per unit during this program is a maximum of three. All units are air-conditioned, fully furnished, and equipped with a refrigerator, countertop range, and cooking utensils. Housing is offered on a space available basis. The School is not responsible for the loss of any personal property. Sorry, no pets.
Payment for onshore housing must accompany the Registration Form. Should the student be unable to attend the program in which he or she is registered, the housing fee is refundable.
Housing Fees: (Shared Rate)
For a second or third person in the party add $20 per night/per person.
Housing fee includes utilities.
Housing Refund Policy
- Housing fee is due with the Registration Form 30 days prior to the start of class to reserve accommodations.
- If a student cannot attend the class in which he or she is registered, housing fees are refundable.
- Once a student moves into the facilities, no fees will be refunded.
- If a credit card was used as the original payment method, a convenience fee of 3.0% of the total amount refunded would apply for all transactions.
- In the event any student does damage to the accommodations, he or she will be responsible for the replacement cost and labor required to repair the damaged Chapman School property.
Certification
A Chapman School certificate of completion is awarded to students who complete the course. These certificates may qualify a boat owner for marine insurance discounts.
