Educational Objectives
Total: 8 Hours / 1 Day
First Aid – (4 hrs. theory/4 hrs. lab)
Designed to prepare the student for emergency treatment of injuries that can occur in a Maritime or Industrial environment. Graduates may receive credit for meeting the CPR and First Aid requirements for U.S. Coast Guard Licensing.
Any applicant who successfully completes First Aid & CPR course (CHAPSS-197) course will satisfy:
• The First Aid and CPR training requirements of 46 CFR 11.201(i)(1), provided that this training was completed within one year of the date of application; AND
• The Elementary First Aid stand-ards of competence required by STCW Code Section A-VI/1 and Table A-VI/1-3, as amended 2010, meeting the National Assessment Guidelines from NVIC 08-14 Tasks 4.1.A – 4.9. A Inclusive: NVICSs 12-14(Ch-2) and 02-18 Task 19.3; and NVIC 13-14(Ch-1)Task 13.3.A.
• This course also satisfies the training, standards of competence, or practical assessment required for STCW certification.

This 4-hour course confers the authority to operate licensed radio stations in the aviation, marine, and international fixed Public Radio Services. The course also includes the 1 hour FCC exam and license application.

Our Hybrid Learning Programs combine the convenience of online education with the confidence that comes from hands-on, in-person training. This format allows students to complete the classroom-based theory portion of their course online, at their own pace and on their own schedule, before coming to campus for the required final skills assessment.
After registering and paying for the course, students receive a unique access code by email to begin the online learning portion.
Once the online coursework is complete, students simply contact our front office to schedule the in-person skills session.
Hybrid learning is ideal for those balancing work, family, or travel, offering greater flexibility without compromising the high standards, personal instruction, and real-world skill development Chapman is known for.
First Aid/CPR/AED (First Response Training International FRTINIT-203) USCG Accepted
This course is cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR), first aid, and automated external defibrillator (AED) use combined into one program. It is designed to teach the techniques to administer CPR, first aid, and utilize an AED in emergency situations involving infants, children, and adults. USCG Accepted as meeting the training required for issuance of a credential as specified in 46 CFR 11.201(i). You must first pass your academic training to proceed to the second phase and complete the required skills.

Oxygen Administration
This course is intended to teach emergency oxygen (O2) administration. This program covers equipment and procedures for administering oxygen as an emergency procedure. Equipment selection and use for decompression illness emergencies are detailed with practical components to train a well-rounded rescuer. There are two components to your training in order to receive your certification. The first is academics, and the second is skills. You must first pass your academic training to proceed to the second phase and work with an instructor in a classroom setting.

First Aid/CPR (STCW Compliant)
(4 hrs. theory/4 hrs. lab) Designed to prepare the student for emergency treatment of injuries that can occur in a Maritime or Industrial environment.
This course is approved by the United States Coast Guard. Successful completion of this course satisfies: The First Aid and CPR Training requirements of 46 CFR11.201(i)(1)(ii) and 46 CFR 11.201(i)(2)(iii), PROVIDED that this training was completed within one year of the date of application; AND The Elementary First Aid standards of competence required by 46 CFR 11.302(a)(3) and 12.602(a)(3); STCW Code Section A-VI/1 and Table A-VI/1-3, as amended 2010, meeting the National Assessment Guidelines from NVIC 08-14(Ch-1) Tasks 4.1.A, 4.1.B, 4.1.C, 4.1.D, 4.1.E, 4.2.A, 4.3.A, 4.3.B, 4.4.A, 4.4.B, 4.4.C, 4.4.D, 4.4.E, 4.4.F, 4.4.G, 4.4.H, 4.4.I, 4.5.A, 4.6.A, 4.6.B, 4.7.A, 4.7.B, 4.7.C, 4.8.A, 4.8.B, 4.8.C, 4.8.D, and 4.9.A.
